║ KNOWN BUGS FOUND AND NOT YET FIXED IN OPERATION OVERKILL II ║
║ ║
╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
The Following is a list of known bugs in Operation Overkill II
and these we know about but have not fixed because of some
reason listed with the bug.
If you have found a bug in the program, please feel free
to enter it in the OOII Echo or the OKillers echo and we
will make a note of it. We are currently working on the
next version and we WILL keep both your ideas and your
complaints in mind during development.
We have found several of the problems people have reported
to be either a Feature of the program, something we are
aware of but can not fix, or something that they simply
did not understand. Enjoy Overkill and let us know if we
can help.
1) Camper investigated on the wasteland sometimes states they
have been dead of 600+ days, when that is not possible.
Cause: Reason Unknown
2) OOCONFIG on some monitors shows the bottom of the screen
to scroll after changing options. Though we know this is
there, we can not replicate it on our end and thus can not
fix it at this time. OOCONFIG is being completely rewrote
for the next release and called OOSETUP, so this bug is no
big problem.
3) Players stalling in combat to stay alive. This is done
by cheating players to make their time run out and thus
log out of the game and be alive. At this time, we have
not developed a "fair" design of how to get around this.
4) RunTime Error if not enough memory available to load the
program. This occurs sometimes when entering the prison
or other code locations where the program heap space grows
out of bounds. Resolution : Next release check for available
memory before starting the program.
5) Bravery is sometimes over 100%. Cause : Unknown
6) Prison Cells overloaded causes runtime error when the
overloaded player tries to log on. Assumed fixed.
HOW TO SUBMIT A BUG:
1) List exactly what is needed to create the bug so that
we can duplicate the problem.
2) List what the problem is in detail
3) Possibly list game screens or character attributes to
show the problem.
4) Enter the message to Tom Hazel so that I can make a note
of it.
Example of a Good Bug Report:
Description of the Problem: When creating a base that is not
a team base a player that is not a member of a team can enter
the base freely.
Detailed Description:
1) Not be a member of a team
2) Create a base
3) Log off
4) New player...log on
5) Exit complex and go to that base
6) Enter the base
Message : Member of Team #0 Recognized. Entry permitted.
Suggested Solution: Base should not see team ZERO as a team
and suspect that entry is checking if the bases team number
is equal to the players team number and does not realize that
team ZERO is NO team.
